Neymar Jr. was considered one of Brazil’s most important players going into the Qatar 2022 FIFA world cup. However, Tite has built his team not to rely on the PSG’s star alone.

Unlike in the 2014 and 2018 FIFA World Cup where Brazil couldn’t deliver when Neymar was absent or didn’t play well, this Brazil team is not built to depend mainly on Neymar but a collection of super-talented youngsters who are hungry for success.

Who will replace Neymar Jr?

Due to Neymar’s ability to hold the ball and create spaces for his teammates to exploit, many teams employ dangerous tackles to silence him as that is the only way to stop him.

In their first 2022 FIFA World Cup group stage game against Serbia, Neymar was fouled more than 5 times. This led to several injuries on his foot and his ankle. He has been ruled out of the group stage and is set to return when Brazil reaches the knockout stage.

Just like in the game against Serbia, we might probably see Antony come in to replace Neymar.

Why is it Neymar’s last World Cup?

Neymar is currently 30 years and would be 34 years when the next World Cup begins. As such, it is believed that he might not be in the right shape and the right fitness level to represent the Brazil team.
