Who will play Beetlejuice’s wife in ‘Beetlejuice 2’?

Popular actress, Monica Bellucci has reportedly been announced as the new cast of Beetlejuice 2 which will start production this month (May 2023). Her partner, Tim Burton is set to direct the film.

According to sources, other cast members include Michael Keaton, Jenna Ortega, Justine Theroux, Catherine O’Hara, Winona Ryder, and more.

It was reported that Bellucci will play the wife of Beetlejuice in the follow-up while Ryder is set to play the mother of Ortega’s character. Warner Bros announced that Beetlejuice 2 will be produced by Brad Pitt. The first film was released in 1988.

Born on September 20, 1964, Monica Bellucci started her acting career in 1990 when she made her acting debut in the television film Vita coi figli. She was cast after Italian director Dino Risi spotted her pictures in a magazine.

She is mostly known for her successful modeling career which started when she was just 13 years old. She starred in her movie in 1991 when she appeared in the movie La Riffa. She went on to appear in Bram Stoker’s Dracula as the bride of Dracula.

Bellucci became desperate about acting and was determined to attend acting classes to polish her newly found profession aside from modeling. However, during that time, she noticed the Italian movie industry was not well developed so she moved to France.

She was nominated for a Cesar Award for Most Promising Actress in 1997, for her role in The Apartment which made her a household name in the French space. She was also awarded the Italian Golden Globe award for her portrayal in L’ultimo Capodanno Best Actress.

In 2000, Bellucci became popular in America after she starred in her first English-language film Under Suspicion, making her gain a lot of attention. She became a Hollywood sensation and went on to star in other movies including Brotherhood of Wolf, Asterix & Obelix: Mission Cleopatra. Irreversible, Tears of Sun, The Passion of Christ, and more.
