Tim Bachman was a legendary rock guitarist and vocalist who was known to be a member of BTO along with his brother, Randy Bachman.

Bachman played guitar in a couple of area bands in Winnipeg but quit eventually because he believed his time in Winnipeg had become stagnant.
He revisited his career in 1972 after taking a long break from music at a young age. He collaborated with his brother Randy to add a second guitar to the Brave Belt lineup, after the departure of Chad Allan.

Bachman left the band in 1974 after they released Bachman-Turner Override II to focus more on family and work on concert promotion. However, his brother Randy shared that he was fired from the band because he broke the band’s rules – no drugs and no alcohol.

In 1984, he rejoined the BTO along with Randy Bachman, Fred Turner, and Gary Peterson for a reunion album and supporting tours. He led the touring versions of the band in 1987 and 1988.
He died on Friday, April 28, 2023, after complications from cancer throughout his brain. His death was announced by his son, Paxton Bachman.
“My Dad passed this afternoon. Thank You Everyone for the kind words. Grateful I got to spend some time with him at the end. Grab yer loved ones and hug ’em close, ya never know how long you have. I sat with Dad yesterday afternoon and reminisced about some of the good times we had. He was pretty out of it most of the time, but at one point looked up at me with really, big wide eyes and said, ‘I love you, Paxton, keep sharing the music…’ and then passed back out,” Paxton announced Tim’s death via a Facebook post.
