A football fan discovered dead at the age of 32 after being sentenced for storming onto a pitch and hitting Jack Grealish.

Tributes have poured in for Paul Mitchell, leaving his mother, Debbie Drew, saddened at the loss of her son.

Mitchell was found deceased at an address in Birmingham, according to reports.

Mitchell served four weeks of his sentence after pleading guilty to assault and to storming the pitch after admitting he had done it “as a joke”.

As part of his punishment, he was also barred from attending football events for ten years.

In March 2019, Birmingham City fan Paul Mitchell attacked Grealish while he was playing for Aston Villa at Saint Andrew’s Stadium before being carried off the field.

The 32-year-old, who was sentenced for 14 weeks but released after serving four, was located earlier this week at a house in Birmingham.
