The 30-year-old’s death, ruled a suicide by the Robeson County Medical Examiner, Richard Johnson, came amidst a backdrop of allegations of abuse and marital discord.

Miller’s body was discovered at Lumber River State Park on April 27, j2024, just two days after she served her husband, Pastor John Paul Miller, with divorce papers.

Court documents revealed a troubled relationship, with Miller expressing fear for her safety and alleging abuse by her husband to family members and church members alike.

Before her death, she confided in her sister, Sierra Francis, expressing concerns about her husband’s potential involvement in any harm that may befall her.

Miller’s brother Nathaniel Francis corroborated these concerns, detailing instances of stalking and damage to her property allegedly perpetrated by her husband.

Despite claims by Pastor Miller that his wife suffered from mental health issues and had a history of suicide attempts, Miller’s family insists on a thorough investigation into her death, seeking justice for her tragic end.

The pastor, who disclosed his wife’s suicide at the end of a church service, has been relieved of his ministerial duties pending further investigation, while Miller’s family mourns her loss and calls for accountability.
