Mark Seiler was a former film executive who worked for RKO Pictures, a revival of the storied Hollywood studio brand and the movie and video subsidiary of RKO General Inc. When he was 35 years old, he was named President of RKO Pictures, replacing C. Robert Manby.

He was well-known for his talent-spotting abilities, both creative and executive talent. As a young executive at RKO, he had a major role in the casting of Denzel Washington in the George Segal movie Carbon Copy after seeing the actor’s theatre works. He also became the CEO of Capella Films in the early 1990s.

Seiler died on July 7, 2023, after a long battle with Parkinson’s and complications from COVID-19. He was 75 years old at the time of death.
He was raised in Sands Points, Long Island. he attended Buckley Day School, Paul D. Schreiber High School, and graduated from Tulane University. He was survived by his longtime partner, actress Morgan Fairchild.
