Who was Justin Peacock? ‘Suits’ Writer Dead at 52

Justin Peacock was a television writer who became a full-time writer and relocated to Los Angeles in 2011 to work on Suits. He worked on the show for three seasons from 2012 to 2015. He also worked as a writer and producer on another popular drama series, The Lincoln Lawyer on Netflix, created by lawyer-turned TV writer, David E. Kelley.

He died of atherosclerotic cardiovascular disease on Thursday, July 13, 2023. He was 52.

Justin’s brilliant mind, biting wit, and passionate convictions will be forever missed by his friends and family,” his family shared in a written statement.

Peacock graduated from the University of Michigan with a BA, from Columbia University with an MFA, and from Yale Law School. He worked as an intellectual property and First Amendment in New York – with his experience ranging from death penalty defense to First Amendment cases and big-firm litigation – before publishing his first novel, A Cure for Night, in 2008.
