American actor, John Beasley who played the role of Barton Ballentine in the 2012 tv series The Soul Man, has been reported dead by his son, Michael Beasley.

According to reports, he died in a hospital in his hometown, Omaha, following complications after undergoing liver tests.

“I lost my best friend today. They say you shouldn’t ever meet your heroes because they don’t turn out to be who you thought they were. This is so wrong. My hero was my father. Thank you for everything,” Michael wrote.
Beasley also starred in The Mighty Ducks in 1992 as Jesse and Terry Hall’s dad. He was best known for his role in the 1993 film Rudy.
He appeared in the remake of Walking Tail in 2014. He went on to star in numerous movies and tv shows before he passed away. One of his most popular tv roles was as Irv Harper in the WB series Everwood.
