Jeffrey Carlson was an American actor who was the first to play a transgender character on daytime tv. He appeared in a daytime role on All My Children, as a British rock star named Zarf in August 2006.

In November of that year, he returned to the role. In the storyline, Zarf was revealed to be a transgender woman named Zoe, who also happened to be a transbian. All My Children won a GLAAD Media Award for Outstanding Daily Drama in 2007 for this storyline.

His name Jeffrey was given by his mother because she was a fan of All My Children and of the character Jeff Martin on the show.
Carlson died on Saturday, July 8, 2023, at the age of 48. No cause of death was announced. Some of his movies also include The Killing Floor, Hitch, Happy End, Plainsong, Measure for Measure, Backseat, and more.
