Who was Jane Lynch’s first wife Lara Embry?

Lara Embry is a clinical psychologist and the first wife of Jane Lynch an American actress, comedian, and singer.

The couple met in 2009 at a fundraiser in San Francisco and became engaged in April 2010. On Memorial Day in 2010, Lynch and Embry wed in a small ceremony in front of 19 guests in Sunderland, Massachusetts.

The couple divorced in 2014 after 4 years of marriage. Jane Lynch released a statement then saying:  “Lara and I have decided to end our marriage. This has been a difficult decision for us as we care very deeply about one another. We ask for privacy as we deal with this family matter,” Lynch said in a statement.

Dr Lara Embry works at the Carter Psychology Center in Sarasota. She received her bachelor’s degree from Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts.

She holds a master’s degree in philosophy from Columbia University, as well as a master’s degree and a doctorate in psychology from the University of Washington.

Dr Lara Embry is the daughter of Dr. Bonnie M. Embry and Dr. Joseph H. Embry of Birmingham, Alabama.
