Famous film editor, Glenn Farr has died. He was one of the five film editors to win the Academy Award for Best Film during the 56th Academy Award for the film The Right Stuff. He died of complications from brain cancer at the age of 77, on May 25, 2023.

He shared his Oscar win with other editors including Lisa Fruchtman, Tom Rolf, Stephen A. Rotter, and Douglas Stewart. Farr was the editor of This Is Elvis (1981), The Right Stuff (1983), Runaway (1984), and more. One of his most notable works was on the popular Hollywood movie Commando in 1985.

His career in the limelight started in 1972 when he was appointed as the post-production coordinator on Elvis on Tour. He went on to serve as the Assistant Editor of Harry and Tonto in 1974.
Many people have expressed their tributes after his death made the news.
“Very sad to report that Edward “Glenn” Farr, Oscar-winning editor of The Right Stuff, has passed away. He also cut from This is Elvis to Fasto to Commando to Nothing in Common to Akeelah & The Bee. He was a gruff, funny, kind man. He will be sorely missed,” David Poland wrote.
“Amazing. There must be so many small flowers of generosity Glenn Farr left in his wake,” Ray Pride.
