Who was Gerald Castillo? ‘Saved by the Bell’ Actor Dead at 90

American actor, Gerald Castillo who was best known for his role in Saved by the Bell, has been reported dead. His cause of death was not revealed but it was shared that he died at age 90 on May 4, 2023.

He played Major Slater, a military man who was a strict but loving parent to A.C,  which was a comedy released in 1989 and 1992.

Castillo also made an appearance on many shows including M*A*S*H, All in the family, Barbaby Jones, Dynasty to Night Court, Dallas, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and more.

He worked in theatres across Los Angeles and at the Santa Paula Theatre in Ventura County when he was almost retiring. He worked on several movies and tv shows including Through Naked Eyes, Death Wish 4: The Crackdown, Kinijite: Forbidden Subjects, Delta Force 2: The Colombian Connection, State of Emergency, Above Suspicion, and more.

Castillo studied acting and stage direction at Goodman Theatre in the 1960’s, and performed on stages with several people including Jessica Tandy, Sherman Hemsley, Rita Moreno, James Broderick, Jeanne Crain, and more.
