New York-based TikTok sensation Eva Evans, renowned for her comedic web series “Club Rat,” has passed away at the age of 29.

The tragic news was confirmed by Eva’s sister, Lila Joy Baumgardner, who shared the announcement on Instagram over the weekend, on Sunday, April 21, 2024.

“After 24 hours, I still find myself in a constant cycle of denial and acceptance, so I know how unbelievable and hard to process this news will be,” Baumgardner wrote, expressing her grief.

She added, “I wish I had Eva here now to refer to because she would have better words and know how to say what I don’t.”

Eva, whose cause of death remains undisclosed, had garnered a substantial following of 300,000 on TikTok. Through her videos, she shared anecdotes and reflections on life in New York City.

Her final video, posted just last week, conveyed her support for fellow internet personality JoJo Siwa’s transition from her child-friendly “Dance Moms” persona.

Not only did Eva gain popularity on TikTok, but she also directed and starred in the Amazon Prime Video web series “Club Rat.” The series, released last year, comprised five episodes, depicting Eva’s character navigating the New York City dating scene following a tumultuous breakup.

A public celebration of Eva’s life is scheduled for Tuesday, April 23, 2024, in downtown Manhattan, according to Baumgardner’s online announcement.

Following the news of her untimely demise, friends and acquaintances shared heartfelt tributes in her memory.

Actress Julia Fox, in an Instagram story, shared Eva’s last TikTok about Siwa and expressed her sorrow in a tearful video, describing Eva as a younger sister figure who always stood up for her and others.

Photographer and director Ashley Armitage also penned a touching tribute on Instagram, recalling Eva’s magnetic personality and her ability to make everyone feel welcomed and cherished.

Likewise, musician and content creator Nigel Roxbury, known as Chris Murch, expressed his shock and grief in a TikTok video, emphasizing Eva’s creativity, kindness, and genuine nature, which made her a beloved figure in New York City and beyond.
