Who was Carmen Sevilla? Spanish Actress Dead at 92

Carmen Sevilla was a Spanish actress who made her debut film appearance in 1946 with the documentary Hombres Ibericos and with a supporting role in Serenata Espanola in 1974. That same year she participated in the Miss Spain contest.

Her role to fame after she starred in The Troublemaker in 195 with Tony Leblanc. After the movie, she became one of the most popular and highest-paid Spanish actresses. Sevilla went on to star in other films including Imperial Violets, Vengeance, King of Kings, and more. She made her debut American television appearance at The Ed Sullivan Show, where she performed live songs “Mis noches de Madrid” and “Estando contigo” both composed by her then-husband, Augusto Alguero.

Sevilla has been reported dead by her family, and according to them, she died of Alzheimer’s disease and pneumonia at a hospital in Madrid at the age of 92. Her death occurred on Tuesday, June 27, 2023. Her death was announced by the Europa Press news agency.
