He created a website documenting Eucharistic miracles and Marian apparitions before his death from leukemia at 15. Carlo was known for his cheerfulness, devotion to the Eucharist, and kindness to others.

 Early Life

Carlo was born in London to Italian parents, Andrea Acutis and Antonia Salzano. Baptized on 18 May 1991, his family moved to Milan shortly after his birth. He attended elite schools and was noted for his compassion, often helping those in need and standing up against bullying.

Religious Devotion

Despite his parents’ initial lack of religious fervor, Carlo’s interest in faith grew early. He became a catechist at 12 and was deeply devoted to the Eucharist, often attending daily Mass and Eucharistic Adoration. He received his First Communion at age seven and was confirmed in 2003.

Carlo was known for his acts of kindness, from defending bullied peers to helping the homeless. He had a deep love for nature, often cleaning up litter during hikes and beach visits. His compassion extended to animals, taking in many strays and caring for pets.

Acutis was a computer genius, skilled in various programming languages. He created a website cataloguing Eucharistic miracles, which aimed to share the Catholic faith with others. His work was recognized for its contribution to promoting volunteering and faith.

Final Days and Death

In early October 2006, Carlo was diagnosed with acute promyelocytic leukemia. He offered his suffering for Pope Benedict XVI and the Church, expressing deep faith until the end. Carlo died on 12 October 2006 and was buried in Assisi, his favorite place.

Beatification and Canonization

Carlo Acutis was beatified by Pope Francis on 10 October 2020. On 23 May 2024, Pope Francis recognized a miracle attributed to Carlo, paving the way for his canonization as the first millennial saint.
