Who was Betta St. John? ‘South Pacific’ and ‘Dream Wife’ Actress Dead at 93

Betta St. John was an American actress who began acting at a very young age. In 1949, she created the role of Liat in the musical South Pacific, first on Broadway and then London.

She also appeared in the 1953 films The Robe, Dream Wife, and All the Brothers Were Valiant, as well as 1954’s The Student Prince. She continued to act in films and television until 1965, after which she left the entertainment industry.

St. John was reported dead by her family on July 7, 2023. According to them, she died of natural causes on June 23, 2023, at the age of 93. She was survived by her three children; Roger Grant, Karen Grant, and Deanna Grant.
