Who was Anita Wood? Famous Actress and Singer Dead at 85

Anita Wood was an American actress and singer. She was known for several movies and tv shows. Some of them include Graceland, How Much Have You Seen, Mr. Skeffington, Love Me Tender, The Love Piker, Speedway, and more.

Some of her songs also include I’ll Wait Forever, Dream Baby, Who’s Sorry Now, I Can’t Show How I Feel, Mana, and more.

Wood died on Thursday, June 29, 2023, from pneumonia at a hospital in Mississippi. She was 85 years old at the time of death.

She appeared on the Larry King Show in 2005 to talk about her romance with Elvis Presley. She also recorded for ABC-Paramount (1958), Sun (1961), and Santo (1963). She worked as a vocalist on The Andy Williams Show (summer 1958). However, she is uncredited by Williams on “Hawaiian Wedding Song” a Top 15 hit in early 1959.

Wood was also known by many as Elvis Presley’s girlfriend, however, she was previously married to NFL football player, Johnny Brewer for 46 years, until he died in 2011. Brewer sued the Memphis Publishing Company in 1976 for libel when it reported that Anita was divorced from him and reunited with Evil Presley in Las Vegas.
