In 2015, Lewis Black lent his voice to the character Anger in the Pixar film “Inside Out” and will reprise the role in the sequel, “Inside Out 2”. Black is an American actor, author, playwright, social critic, and stand-up comedian best known for his comedic angry rants about history, politics, religion, and cultural trends.

Lewis Black grew up in a middle-class Jewish family in the Burnt Mills neighborhood of Silver Spring, Maryland. Tragically, Lewis Black’s younger brother, Ronald, passed away from cancer in 1997 at the age of 47.

In Washington, D.C., Lewis Black worked at the Appalachian Regional Commission and began performing stand-up comedy. Black’s career in theater took off as a playwright. He wrote the musical “The Czar of Rock and Roll” in 1990.
Lewis Black hosted the Comedy Central series “Lewis Black’s Root of All Evil” and became a regular contributor to “The Daily Show” with Jon Stewart, delivering his signature “Back in Black” commentary segment.
