Steve Wilkos, the host of NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution’s nationally syndicated series The Steve Wilkos Show filled in for Jerry Springer as host of the long-running The Jerry Springer Show on more than 50 episodes.

Wilkos used his law enforcement background and no-nonsense style to create his own identity as a talk show host.
Sadly, Jerry Springer, whom Wilkos stood in for, is no longer with us. Springer was born on February 13, 1944 and died on April 27, 2023 aged 79.

Springer was best known for hosting the tabloid talk show Jerry Springer between September 30, 1991, and July 26, 2018, and debuting the Jerry Springer Podcast in 2015.
The Jerry Springer Show premiered on September 30, 1991. It was taped in Chicago, Illinois from 1991 to 2009 and in Stamford, Connecticut, from 2009 to 2018.
However, NBCUniversal ended production of new episodes of the show after 27 seasons on June 13, 2018. The show’s final tapings took place on July 6, 2018, and its final episode aired on July 26, 2018, with reruns continuing on The CW immediately thereafter.
