Jack White sang the National Anthem at the Detroit Tigers game on April 8th this year.

Jack who is a native of Detroit started the Tigers’ opening-day baseball game against the Chicago White Sox with a bluesy rendition of “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

Instead of singing out the patriotic words to Comerica Park fans, White went the instrumental route for his performance of the national anthem, giving it a twangy, Americana twist.

White began by strumming the opening chords of the track, accompanied by a keyboardist, bassist, and drummer, before being joined by his band, who rounded out the song and added a dramatic flair to his interpretation of the piece.

The show ended with fireworks over the stadium and the crowd screaming for White and his band’s rendition of the patriotic song.

Fear of the Dawn, the latest album by the former White Stripes member, was also released on Friday. When Apple Music’s Zane Lowe inquired if they were “sitting on fire,” White hinted an unreleased project between him and Jay-Z and teased an unreleased project between them.
