Daniel Francis Fouts is an American retired professional football quarterback who spent his entire 15-year career with the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League.

Fouts was a college football player for the Oregon Ducks, where he broke multiple records and was inducted into the Oregon Sports Hall of Fame and the University of Oregon Hall of Fame.
Fouts was a relative unknown when he accepted a scholarship offer to play for the Ducks in Eugene. During his first year there (1969), he started for the freshman team.
Fouts made his big-screen debut in 1998, playing himself in Adam Sandler’s football comedy The Waterboy.
