Who presents BBC Athletics?

The BBC’s lead presenter for the 2022 World Athletics Championships is Jeanette Boahemaa Kwakye MBE.

Jeanette Kwakye obtained an NCTJ qualification and began working for BBC Radio Berkshire before joining the sports team at BBC Radio London in 2014.

Jeanette Kwakye is a regular host of BBC Radio 5 Live’s Football Daily podcast, as well as a 5  Live Sports contributor. She also contributes regularly to Ian Wright’s podcast, Wrighty’s House.

Jeanette Kwakye has hosted several BBC Sport sports shows, including the 2018 Youth Olympic Games, World Swimming Championships 2019, World Athletics Championships 2019, The Women’s Football Show, and BBC Sports Personality of the Year 2019.

Jeanette Kwakye previously hosted The Women’s Sports Show, a weekly hour-long show on BBC Radio London at 1:00 pm on Saturdays.

Kwakye was named Channel 5’s lead presenter for boxing coverage in December 2020. Jeanette Kwakye also works as an Athlete Mentor for the Youth Sport Trust through the Sky Sports Changing Lives programme.
