British actor, Adeel Akhtar plays the role of Andy Fisher in the BBC miniseries Sherwood. It is set in a Nottinghamshire mining village, two shocking killings shatter an already fractured community with a dark past.

The story is loosely based on the murder of trade unionist Keith Frogson in 2004 and begins with the murder of a former union activist, Gary Jackson.

Akhtar began his career in 2010 when he starred in Four Lions by Chris Morris. Some of the movies and tv shows he featured in during the early stages of his career include The Angelos Epithemiou, The Dictator, Pan, and more.
In 2015, he starred in Channel 4’s Utopia as Wilson Wilson and bagged a nomination for BAFTA for Best Supporting Actor. Akhtar also starred in Capital, River, and more, that same year.4
Akhtar plays the role of BBC Three series Back to Life which returned for its second season in 2021. He won the BAFTA Award for Best Supporting Role in the 2023 ceremony.
