Mark Driscoll, a co-founder, steered its growth from 1996 to 2014, transforming it into a megachurch with over 14,000 members across multiple sites. However, controversies and allegations of bullying led to his resignation in 2014.
Following Driscoll’s departure, a team of lead pastors, including Dave Bruske and Sutton Turner, tried to navigate the church through a transition phase.
Despite their efforts, dwindling membership and ongoing controversies led to the church’s dissolution in 2015. Former Mars Hill campuses scattered, affiliating with different denominations to form new congregations.

Today, the original Mars Hill Church is a thing of the past, with no single pastor associated with its name. Mark Driscoll has since moved on, founding Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, in 2016, where he now serves as the senior and founding pastor.
However, the story of Mars Hill Church is not without its complexities and controversies.
When discussing its leadership, it’s essential to acknowledge the specific timeframes and contexts surrounding each pastor’s tenure.
