Who is Yasir Al-Rumayyan? Meet PGA and LIV Golf’s New Saudi Chairman – Yasir bin Othman Al-Rumayyan is a Saudi businessman who serves as governor of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s sovereign wealth fund.

He is also the chairman of the English football club Newcastle United, the chairman of Saudi Aramco, and, most recently, the chairman of the newly amalgamated PGA Tour and LIV Golf.
He graduated from King Faisal University in Alahsa in 1993 after being born on February 18, 1970, in Buraidah, Al-Qassim Province.
He began his career with Saudi Hollandi Bank, where he rose to the position of head of international brokerage before joining the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) as head of securities listings.

Al-Rumayyan was the CEO of Saudi Fransi Capital (SFC), the investment banking arm of Bank Saudi Fransi, from 2011 to 2015.
He was on the Saudi Stock Exchange’s board of directors from 2014 to 2015.
He was named managing director of the Saudi Public Investment Fund in September 2015. (PIF).
He led PIF’s $3.5 billion investment in the US-based Uber in 2016, and as part of the transaction, he joined Uber’s board of directors.
He joined the board of Saudi Aramco in August 2016, as part of a move toward greater cooperation between Aramco and PIF in revamping the Saudi economy.
According to his LinkedIn page, Al-Rumayyan, a banker by trade, progressively gained power in the Saudi financial sector before officially becoming an advisor to the Saudi government in 2015 and taking over PIF in 2019.
