Giada Colagrande is an Italian film-maker and actress who is married to Willem Dafoe a famous American actor.

Willem Dafoe met his wife Giada Colagrande at the premiere of one of her films in Rome in March 2004. They tied the knot on March 25, 2005.

“We were having lunch and I said, ‘Do you want to get married tomorrow?’” Dafoe recalled in 2010. They did so the next afternoon in a small ceremony attended by two friends.

They spent time in Rome, Los Angeles, and New York City.  Through his marriage, Dafoe obtained Italian citizenship.

Giada Colagrande directed her second feature, Before It Had a Name, in 2005, which she co-wrote and co-starred in with her husband Willem Dafoe.

In 2012, she completed the feature-length film Bob Wilson’s Life & Death of Marina Abramovic. Colagrande wrote, directed, and acted in the 2016 film PADRE, starring Franco Battiato, Willem Dafoe, and Marina Abramovi.

Colagrande has also appeared in Abel Ferrara’s Pasolini (2014) as an actress.
