Matoka Judith Thabane was the first wife of Lesotho politician, Thomas Thabane, whom he married before he the late Lipolelo Thabane.

Her maiden name was Mamotapanyane Yayi Fobo.
Matoka and Thabane together had four children. Unfortunately, their Marriage ended in a divorce.
Matoka passed away on 26 August 2017, from natural causes. She was aged 79.

Thabane was born on May 28, 1939, and obtained his first degree from the National University of Lesotho.
He is the fifth prime minister of the country who served from 2012 to 2015 and from 2017 to 2020.
Thabane belongs to the All Basotho Convention (ABC) political party.

Thomas Thabane Career
Thabane has been Principal Secretary for Health under the leadership of Leabua Jonathan, until the military took over in 1986.
Thabane also served as Minister of Foreign Affairs during the military regime of General Justin Lekhanya.
During the regime of Prime Minister Ntsu Mokhehle, he served as Special Adviser.
Other cogent positions he has held in government include Minister of Home Affairs and Public Safety, and Minister of Communications, Science and Technology.
