Mars Hill Bible Church operates differently than many other churches. Instead of having just one main pastor, they have two leaders who share the responsibilities.

Together, they guide the church and work closely with the Executive Leadership Team, which includes Kenton Sanders, who handles operations.

This way of leading started in June 2021 after AJ Sherrill left in 2020. Before that, Mars Hill had a more typical setup with just one pastor in charge, like Rob Bell, Shane Hipps, and Kent Dobson in the past.

Even though Eiland and Hatfield are the lead pastors, other pastors also play important roles in the church’s work and ministries. Mars Hill’s website has more details about all the staff members.
This shared leadership model ensures that different voices and perspectives guide the church, making it more inclusive and diverse in its approach. It’s a way of working together that reflects the values of Mars Hill and helps it stay connected to its community.
