Alexis Ohanian is an American businessman and investor who is best known as the co-founder and executive chairman of the social media site Reddit.

Alexis Kerry Ohanian was born on April 24, 1983, in Brooklyn, New York, United States. His parents are Anke Ohanian and Chris Ohanian. His mother hails from Germany. He attended Howard High School in Ellicott City, Maryland and later graduated from the University of Virginia in 2005 with degrees in commerce and history.

At the University of Virginia, Alexis Ohanian was inducted into The National Society of Collegiate Scholars (NSCS). He co-founded the early-stage venture capital firm Initialized Capital and started the social enterprise Breadpig. He was named to the Forbes “30 Under 30” list as an important figure in the technology industry in 2011 and 2012.

Alexis Ohanian was featured as “champions of innovation” alongside Erik Martin in the 20th Anniversary issue of Wired in 2013. He was named to the Crain’s “40 Under 40” list for business in 2015. He got engaged to tennis player Serena Williams on December 29, 2016.
