The PGA Tour Champions pro is competing in the US Open for the seventh time. Quinn hadn’t tried qualifying for the US Open since 2015, but he gave it a shot this year.

Fran Quinn turned professional in 1988. Fran Quinn made 13 of 25 cuts during his first full season on the Nationwide Tour, then the Ben Hogan Tour, in 1991.

He finished T8 at Q-School later that year, earning him a PGA Tour card for 1992. He barely made six of the 18 cuts in 1992, and his tour card for 1993 was revoked.

Quinn played on the PGA and Nationwide Tours off and on from 1993 to 1997, before focusing solely on the Nationwide Tour.

Quinn won his first major tournament in a playoff at the Nike Dakota Dunes Open in 1999. He finished the season with three top-10 finishes, but it wasn’t enough to win him a PGA Tour card for 2000.

Quinn competed in approximately 300 tournaments between 2002 and mid-2009, winning only 17 times and finishing in the top 10 only 17 times.
