Koji Sato is the current President of Toyota Motor Corporation, and a prominent figure in the automotive industry.

Born on October 19, 1969, Sato embarked on his journey in the world of automobiles when he joined Toyota in April 1992 after earning a degree in mechanical engineering from Waseda University in 1992.
His initial foray at Toyota saw him in the Technology Administration Division, but it was in product development that he truly made his mark.
Notably, he led a team responsible for designing the suspension of the groundbreaking first-generation Prius and the Vista sedan, showcasing his commitment to innovation and sustainability.

In 2003, Sato took on a pivotal role in developing the North American Camry sedan.

In 2006, Sato transitioned to Lexus, the luxury vehicle division of Toyota, where he served as the Assistant Chief Engineer on the GS sedan.
Sato’s influence and responsibilities continued to expand when, in 2012, he was tasked with managing the development of a new platform for Lexus, one that would serve as the foundation for its top-tier models. Under his leadership, the Lexus LC Concept was born, a dynamic coupe that garnered immense attention and enthusiasm from the automotive community.
Following the concept’s success, Sato’s role evolved, and he was appointed as the Chief Engineer of the production version of the Lexus LC.
In January 2020, Sato was named the President of Lexus International, and was entrusted with overseeing Lexus’s global operations and maintaining its position as a pioneer in the luxury automotive market.
In April 2023, Sato reached the pinnacle of his career when he became the President of Toyota Motor Corporation.
