Who is the lead singer of the Scissors Sisters?

American singer and songwriter, Jake Shears is the lead singer of the popular music band, Scissors Sisters. Along with Scott Hoffman, Shears formed Scissors Sisters in 2001 as a performance art stunt, playing outrageous shows in clubs like Luxx, the heart of the electroclash scene in Williamsburg Brooklyn.

In 2004, the group found heavy success in the United Kingdom and Ireland and ended the year with the biggest-selling album of that year in the UK. Shears used to be a go-go dancer and an exotic dancer.

According to Spears, Scissors Sisters went their separate ways because “it was time.”

“I felt we had kinda done what we set out to do. We did 10 solid years of recording and touring. And I just felt like it was time for everybody to go live their lives. The bad was our lives for a long time. But there could be another Scissors record again someday. I’ll never rule that out,” he said.
