Who is the female in Aquaman?

The female in Aquaman is Amber Heard known as Mera in the movie. She is a fictional superheroine and warrior appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics.

The character first appeared in Aquaman #11 as the queen of the sea. In the feature films of the DC Extended Universe, actress Amber Heard portrayed Princess Mera in Justice League and its director’s cut and reprises the role in Aquaman and will return in Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom.

Amber Heard was married to actor, Johnny Depp from 2015 to 2017. The divorce drew the attention when Heard alleged that Depp has been abusive throughout their relationship.

In 2018, Depp sued the publishers of British tabloid The Sun for libel, accusing Heard of abuse. In 2020, the presiding judge found that the printed article, which alleged that Depp had been abused, was substantially not true.
