The current commissioner of the WA police is Christopher John Dawson APM, known simply as Chris Dawson.
Chris Dawson is an Australian police officer who is the Commissioner of Western Australia Police.
Chris Dawson joined Western Australia Police in February 1976 as a cadet and was promoted to superintendent in 1999.

The 2002 Queen’s Birthday Honours saw him receive the Australian Police Medal.
Chris Dawson was then appointed Deputy Commissioner in July 2004 under Karl O’Callaghan.
However, je left Western Australia Police in April 2014 to be Chief Executive Officer of the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
Chris Dawson was also Director of the Australian Institute of Criminology and became the Commissioner of Western Australia Police in August 2017.
Chris Dawson has been designated as the 34th Governor of Western Australia, and he is to take office in July 2022.
