Who Is Shay Mitchell’s Boyfriend Matte Babel?

Matte Babel is the boyfriend of Canadian actress, model, entrepreneur, and author Shay Mitchell. The couple has been in a relationship since 2017.

They have two daughters, Atlas, who was born in October 2019; and Rome, born May 2022. Mitchell and Babel are both from Ontario, Canada.

Shay Mitchell told FOX411 in 2017 that thy had known each other for several years and started off as friends first. “We knew each other in Toronto. Like Drake and all them, it’s a Toronto crew,” she said of Babel and her Degrassi costar Drake. “We’re really, really awesome friends.”

Matte Babel attended Wilfrid Laurier University from 1999 to 2003, where he double majored in communications and sociology with a minor in business and graduated with honours.

He has worked as the anchor of MuchMusic, a Canadian cable specialty channel, co-host of CP24 Breakfast and correspondent for Entertainment Tonight Canada.

Matte Babel has also worked as a brand consultant; now, Babel is the Chief Brand Officer of DreamCrew, his longtime friend Drake’s management and entertainment organisation.
