Who is Ryan Lowe? Preston boss emerges as shock contender for Rangers job

Ryan Lowe is a former professional footballer and current football manager of Championship side Preston North End in the English Football League.

Lowe was recently announced as a potential replacement for former Rangers manager Michael Beale, who was sacked after 10 months of appointment.

Rangers are still on the lookout for a manager, and Lowe ranks top on the list.

Lowe was born on September 18, 1978, in Liverpool, England, and played professional football as a striker, from 1999 to 2018.

Before then, he played youth football for Liverpool and Southport.

His entire playing career saw him play for Sandon Dock, Waterloo Dock, Burscough, Shrewsbury Town, Chester City, Crewe Alexandra, Stockport County, Bury, Sheffield Wednesday, Milton Keynes Dons, Tranmere Rovers, and Crewe Alexandra.

Lowe had a successful career as a goal scorer and achieved promotions with some of the clubs he played for.

After retiring as a player, Lowe transitioned into football management.

Lowe began his managerial career with Bury, where he played last before retirement. So far, he has managed Bury, Plymouth Argyle, and Preston North End.

His time with Bury saw him lead the team to promotion from League Two to League One.
