Robert Pickton is a Canadian serial killer who was convicted of murdering six women.

However, he is suspected of being responsible for the deaths of many more. Born on October 24, 1949, in Port Coquitlam, British Columbia, Pickton was a pig farmer who owned a property in the outskirts of Vancouver.
In 2002, the property was raided by police investigating the disappearance of several women from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside.
The investigation uncovered gruesome evidence, including human remains, which led to Pickton’s arrest.
During his trial, which began in 2007, Pickton was charged with the murders of 26 women, although he later confessed to an undercover police officer that he had killed 49.
He was convicted of six counts of second-degree murder and sentenced to life in prison with no possibility of parole for 25 years.
