What Happened To Richard Rufus?
Rufus was recently jailed for seven-and-a-half years at Southwark Crown Court, over allegations bordering on fraudulent schemes.
He had allegedly defrauded friends, family and associates to the tune of £8m, by falsely claiming to be a foreign exchange trader, and tricking people into investing in his so-called “low-risk scheme”.
Police reports show that the Ponzi scheme began in May 2007 and ended in 2010, leaving many in the ocean of “huge financial and mental health difficulties.”
Reports also revealed that Rufus spent some £300,000 on travel, luxury cars, restaurants and shopping.
