Who Is NYPD Officer Wilbert Mora?

Wilbert Mora was a member of the New York City Police Department. He was 27 years old at the time.

On Friday, Mora was injured while responding to a call from a woman who was having a disagreement with her son. Mora and two other cops arrived at the house and were fired at as they attempted to enter a back bedroom.

Mora was transferred to Harlem Hospital and had surgery there. According to CBS New York, he was eventually transported to NYU Langone but remained in critical condition until his death.

Mora is regarded as a clever and humble young man by his family and friends. After earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from CUNY John Jay College of Criminal Justice, he joined the NYPD as an officer in 2018.
