Who is Nacho Figueras? Everything to know about Prince Harry’s right-hand man

Ignacio “Nacho” Figueras Bermejo is an Argentine polo player and model with a 6-goal handicap. He is also known for his close friendship with Prince Harry and his involvement in charitable work.

Figueras and Prince Harry’s friendship dates back to 2007, a year after Prince Harry co-founded Sentebale, a charity aimed at helping children in Africa affected by poverty, inequality, HIV/AIDS, and more recently, Covid-19.

Figueras has spoken about Prince Harry’s commitment to the charity and the impactful work it does for children in Lesotho.

Early Life

Ignacio Figueras Bermejo was born on March 4, 1977, in Veinticinco de Mayo, Buenos Aires. Raised in a middle-class family on a small farm outside the city, he began playing polo at age 9 with polo player Lucas Monteverde. At 14, he moved in with Monteverde to focus on polo more seriously.

Polo Career

Figueras started playing polo professionally in Paris at age 17. He joined the White Birch polo team in Bridgehampton, New York, and is currently co-owner and player for the Black Watch Polo Team.

Often referred to as the “David Beckham of polo,” Figueras is considered the most famous polo player globally. He has been the face of Ralph Lauren’s Black Label since 2005 and has been ranked among the top eighteen Money Men by models.com.

Personal Life

Figueras has been married to fellow Argentine Delfina Blaquier, a photographer and former model, since 2004. The couple has four children: Hilario, born in 2000, Aurora in 2005, Artemio in 2010, and Alba in 2013.
