Markéta Šimková Vondroušová is a Czech tennis player who has achieved a career-high ranking of world No. 14 by the Women’s Tennis Association (WTA).

She currently ranks world number 42 on the singles ranking and world number 48 in doubles.
Born on June 28, 1999, in Prague, Czech Republic, Marketa is the current 2023 Wimbledon champion, and the first unseeded female player to win the singles title.

She had beaten Ons Jabeur in the finals to become “the first unseeded ladies’ singles Wimbledon champion in the Open Era.”

At the 2023 Wimbledon Championships, she was matched against Peyton Stearns, Veronika Kudermetova and Donna Vekić. She ended up reaching the fourth round at all Grand Slam tournaments.
In 2019, Marketa became the first teenage major to finish runner-up at the French Open.
Marketa has additionally won two singles titles out of six finals on the WTA Tour and a silver medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
The left-handed player has a career record of 242–102, and two career titles.
