Who is Kenya Barris Wife Dr. Rainbow Edwards-Barris?

Dr Rainbow Edwards-Barris is the wife of Kenya Barris, an American television writer, producer, and director.

The couple got married in 1999.  They have six kids. He filed for divorce from her in 2022, after previously filing and withdrawing. Kenya Barris filed for divorce from her in 2022, having filed and withdrawn for divorce twice before.

Dr. Rainbow Edwards-Barris earned a bachelor’s degree in biology in 1996.  According to US News, she received her medical degree from UCLA’s David Geffen School of Medicine and has been in practice for 11-20 years.

She went on to finish her residency at Cedars-Sinai while juggling her personal life as a wife and student. Dr Rainbow Edwards-Barris is a California-licenced anesthesiologist who is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.

Dr Rainbow Edwards-Barris and her husband Kenya Barris donated $1 million to their alma mater, CAU, in 2018. They established the Kenya and Rainbow Barris Annual Scholarship Award to help biology and mass media arts students.

The donation made by Dr Rainbow Edwards-Barris and Kenya Barris was the largest alumni gift ever made to Atlanta college.
