Andrew Norman is the ex-husband of Fatima Whitbread, the retired British javelin thrower and TV personality.

The former couple got married in 1997 in Copthorne, West Sussex. They had a son together but divorced in 2006.
Andrew John Norman was born on September 21, 1943, into a working-class family in Ipswich. After finishing high school, he joined the Metropolitan Police, where he rose to the rank of sergeant at the age of 23.

He never rose further in the force he left in 1984 to become the BAF’s promotions officer. He became the Met’s athletics team manager, entitling him to be a delegate at the Amateur Athletic Association (AAA) Southern Counties events.

In 1972, he was appointed Southern Counties’ area co-ordinator, putting him in charge of some of the most important meetings on the calendar.
Andrew Norman died of a heart attack in 2007 at the age of 64. Andy Norman was credited with changing the face of British athletics; however, in the process. Norman brought publicity to athletics as the British Athletics Federation’s (BAF) promotions officer.
