Who is Eliza Fletcher? Memphis teacher abducted on a morning jog

Eliza Fletcher, a 34-year-old Memphis mother of two known as Liza, was abducted while out for a jog early Friday, September 2, 2022.

Investigators say the junior kindergarten teacher was “abducted and forced into a mid-sized, dark-coloured SUV” as she ran down Central Avenue near the University of Memphis around 4:30 a.m.

According to Memphis Police, they received two calls around 7:45 a.m., one from Fletcher’s husband Richard Fletcher III and one from the University.

They discovered some of her belongings at the scene and were told that after a struggle, a male approached Fletcher and forced her into a dark SUV.

The vehicle was later identified as a GMC Terrain by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
Fletcher is described as a White woman with blonde hair and green eyes.

She is about 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs around 137 pounds. She was wearing a pink athletic top and purple running shorts, with her hair up and a matching headband.
