Grover Asmus was an American military officer and the third husband of Donna Reed. He served in the U.S. Army until 1972, attaining the rank of colonel. Asmus met Donna Reed at a mutual friend’s dinner party and they were married in 1974.

Donna Reed was the founding president of The Donna Reed Foundation for the Performing Arts in 1987. Asmus passed away on October 11, 2003, in Denison, Iowa, U.S.
