According to aerial footage from 11Alive, Patterson appeared calm and docile as he was handcuffed and placed in the back of a law enforcement vehicle.
He was wearing the same clothes he was wearing at the time of the shooting. He is currently being held at the Cobb County Jail.
Patterson, who had recently been discharged from the Coast Guard, had gone to the building for a medical appointment on Wednesday, accompanied by his mother, according to CNN.
