Charles Lee is an American former professional basketball player and National Basketball Association (NBA) assistant coach for the Boston Celtics.

Charles Lee was hired as the Boston Celtics’ top assistant coach on June 11, 2023, according to reports. Lee began his coaching career at Bucknell University (2012-14) before moving on to the Atlanta Hawks (2014-18) and the Milwaukee Bucks.
Charles Lee, who has both playing and coaching experience, is another excellent addition by Boston Celtics general manager Brad Stevens. Joe Mazzulla’s coaching staff needed more veteran experience from coaches who had played in the league or overseas.

Charles Lee went undrafted in the 2006 NBA draft but was later signed on a multi-year contract by the San Antonio Spurs on September 6, 2006. The Spurs later waived his contract on October 26, 2006.
He spent the majority of his professional career in Israel and Europe as a 6’3″ guard from Bucknell University. Charles Lee announced his retirement from basketball in 2010.
