Benjamin Lloyd Crump is an American attorney who specializes in civil rights and catastrophic personal injury cases such as wrongful death lawsuits. He is also the founder of the Tallahassee, Florida-based law firm Ben Crump Law.

Benjamin Crump has represented the families of several high-profile victims of police brutality, including Trayvon Martin, Breonna Taylor, George Floyd, and Jacob Blake. He has been referred to as “Black America’s attorney general” due to his legal reputation.

Crump has been retained by the family of Leonard Cure to represent them in the aftermath of his death. Crump held a news conference with Leonard’s family on October 18, 2023, at the Camden County Courthouse in Woodbine, Georgia.
Leonard Allan Cure was a man who was wrongfully convicted for a robbery he did not commit and spent over 16 years in prison. He was exonerated in 2020 and released from prison. However, on October 17, 2023, he was fatally shot by a Georgia sheriff’s deputy during a traffic stop on Interstate 95.
