Endometriosis can affect women at any age, however, it usually affects women during their reproductive years between the ages of 25 and 35.

It is not possible to completely prevent endometriosis, however, here are certain steps you can take to potentially reduce your risk or manage your symptoms:

  1. Exercise regularly: Regular exercise (more than 4 hours a week) can help reduce inflammation in the body, which may help manage endometriosis symptoms.
  2. Eat a healthy diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and lean protein
  3. Manage stress since it can exacerbate endometriosis symptoms.
  4. Talk to your doctor: If you have symptoms of endometriosis, such as painful periods or pelvic pain, talk to your doctor. Early diagnosis and treatment can help manage symptoms and prevent potential complications.
  5. Talk to your doctor about hormonal birth control methods, such as pills, patches or rings with lower doses of estrogen.
  6. Avoid large amounts of alcohol.
  7. Avoid large amounts of drinks with caffeine.
