Al Gore’s mother was Pauline LaFon Gore. She was born on October 6, 1912, in Palmersville, Tennessee, U.S. She was the first woman to graduate from Vanderbilt University Law School.

Pauline LaFon Gore was married to Albert A. Gore, who served as a United States Senator from Tennessee from 1953 to 1971. She played a significant role in both of her husband’s and son’s political careers.
